Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wallander visited Tbilisi July 13-15 as part of a larger trip to the South Caucasus.

She met with officials at the Ministry of Defense, the National Security Council and the State Ministries for Reintegration and for Euro-Atlantic Integration, as well as representatives of NGOs as part of a series of bilateral consultations to discuss ongoing cooperation and programs.

She also visited the Krtsanisi National Training Center to observe the training of Georgia's 32nd battalion which will deploy to Afghanistan to support ISAF operations.
