Alexander Vershbow: USA not to deploy missile shields in non NATO states

The United States sees no reason to deploy elements of its missile shield in countries which are not members of NATO. This declaration made today by The U.S. assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs, Alexander Vershbow during the joint briefing with Giga Bokeria, deputy foreign minister.
"We are not conducting the negotiations with non NATO countries for missile-defense shields. We have no wish to deploy these systems in the states which are not members of the alliance, "- he said.
But despite of the declaration at this time the negotiations are pending with Moscow about the possibility of Moscow's participation in the "common process of the security system".

"But the negotiations with Russian Federation are at the starting level as yet, "- he said. He noted that the negotiations about this question are pending with Poland and Czech Republic as well.

"We did not start the negotiations with other states on this question yet, "- US high rank said.
