As soon Georgia fulfills the requirements for NATO membership, it will be accepted to Alliance. Ivo Daalder, USA Ambassador to NATO said in Washington when evaluating the NATO Lisbon summit. "Georgia clearly stated that it wishes to become a member of NATO. We established the NATO-Georgia commission and we have different activities in this respect. As well NATO proved again its adherence to the fundamental decision taken at the Bucharest summit. As soon Georgia will satisfy all necessary requirements for the NATO membership it will be accepted to the Alliance, "- USA envoy said.
In connection with the Ukraine position for the NATO membership Daalder said: "Despite the Ukraine for this moment refused to become a member of the Alliance, the NATO respects this decision and at the same time its doors are open for Ukraine." He said that if Ukraine will decide to become again a NATO member it can make a declaration for joining NATO.
