Today on December 27 in the Tbilisi State University elections of rector will be held. 6 candidates are nominated for this post: Alexander Kvitashvili, acting rector, Giorgi Chincharauli, Nikoloz Liluashvili, Mariam Tsatsanashvili and Temuraz Urushadze. All candidates presented own action plans before the Academic Council.
For information, former rector Giorgi Khubua resigned on August 13. The resignation happen on the ground of a scandal with stolen books from the library of the University. As a result law enforcers detained director of the Library and several persons connected to this case.
