The US Senators call on the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to reiterate its open-door policy towards the countries, which seek the military alliance's membership.
The Senators had into consideration the following countries: Georgia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Macedonia which were rejected to become NATO members in 2008.
The US Senate discussed details about the forthcoming NATO summit due to be held in Chicago in May. The meeting was organized by the Atlantic Council.
