NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai, who arrived in Georgia with one-day official visit on June 11, has already left Georgia.
Appathurai gave an exclusive interview to "Moambe" News Program of First Channel, before departure. He focused on the importance of the forthcoming 2012 parliamentary elections in Georgia and underlined on cooperation between the military alliance and Georgia.
Appathurai also thanked Georgia for its participation in Afghanistan peacekeeping mission. NATO Secretary General's Special Representative opened NATO Week in Georgia.
Meanwhile, NATO Week continues in Georgia. Various activities are planned to be held within the framework of the event. Volunteers of NATO Information Center will hear a lecture at Poti Coastal Guards Base. Sports competitions will also take place in Poti.
NATO Week is being held for already the fifth time. The NATO Information Center in Tbilisi and Office of Georgia's State Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration are the organizers of the event.
