The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France, will start the last hearings regarding the complaint filed by the Georgian government against Russia this afternoon.
The Russian side is accused of violation of human rights of Georgian nationals during the mass deportation of ethnic Georgians back in 2007. Georgia alleges that rights of ethnic Georgians had been harshly violated.
The Court will listen to the arguments presented by both sides. After the hearing, the court will make a decision.
The Georgian delegation departed for France on June 12 to attend the hearing.
Representatives of the Georgian Foreign Ministry say that the Georgian side has substantial evidence and arguments to protect rights of Georgian citizens.
