President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili was in the Telavi Cathedral together with the Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II last night. Before entering the temple, Saakashvili met with the crowd gathered outside the temple; after the service, Patriarch addressed the worshippers. His Holiness said whole Georgia was prompted to assist the resident of Kakheti and the fact that whole government and the president were also in teh disaster affected region proved this.
Patriarch also said the rehabilitation works, which were underway in the region currently, gave people hope that everything would be all right soon.
Georgian president thanks His Holiness for arriving in the disaster region and provided support. His Holiness delivered food products and things of primary use to the affected population of Kakheti. The foundation of the Patriarch has also allocated funds for the disaster affected region.
