The Georgian Public Broadcaster has released a special statement with regard to the current events in Georgia. The statement was published on the official website of GPB.
"Georgian Public Broadcaster performs its duties in accordance with the Georgia's legislation. GPB continues providing the Georgian citizens with the full, impartial and objective information about the ongoing political and social processes. The programs aired on GPB can prove it: The news program "Moambe", arranged political debates and weekly public-political talk-shows.
With regard to the talk-shows GPB declares that the external editorial interference into the program producing process of the talk-shows of Eka Kvesitadze, Davit Paichadze and Eka Mishveladze does not exist, also the changes in the TV schedule are not planned. Accordingly, any author of the program has complete freedom to introduce the audience with the problems, guests and the stories that they think serve to satisfy the public interest", - the statement reads.
