Giorgi Tughushi, Georgia's already former public defender assumed the post of minister of Penitentiary, Probation and Legal Assistance.
The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili presented Giorgi Tughushi as a new Minister. President says that reorganization will be conducted in the Penitentiary system and Tughushi is a person who strongly criticized the system in recent years.
Tughushi says that he has agreed to assume the post of the minister because he is well aware of the problems existing in the system and he will be allowed to make radical changes.
Tughushi says that he will take into consideration all the recommendations, which he elaborated as a public defender.
