Libyan Army soldiers have flushed out a group of militia fighters holed up in a military complex near Tripoli International Airport.
Armed groups that have not been integrated into state institutions have been ordered to disband and abandon their bases as part of an official crackdown.
People in Tripoli have welcomed the decision. This man said it was the right one to take after the demonstrations in Benghazi. Another said that as the revolution is now over, the country has no more need for the militia.
The government ultimatum came on Saturday, the day after 11 people died and dozens were wounded in anti-militia unrest in Benghazi.
A spokesman for the Libyan Army says the evictions could take up to three weeks and warned force will be used "if necessary."
