The 67th session of the UN General Assembly officially opened in New York yesterday.
General political discussion was held within the frames of the session with participation of world leaders.
Georgia's President Mikheil Saakashvili delivered a speech at the session of the United Nations General Assembly. He focused on Georgia's internal and external challenges, the upcoming parliamentary elections, the facts of violence against the prisoners and the government's reaction that followed it.

Georgian President held various bilateral meetings in New York. Saakashvili met with presidents of Poland, Dominique Republic and EU as part of his visit. They discussed cooperation issues between the countries - visa facilitation and trade issues among them.
