Prosecutor`s office of Georgia has arrested four persons with the charges of prisoners` sexual assault and abuse - prosecutor Shota Tkeshelashvili announced at the briefing today.
He said within the investigation conducted on the facts of prisoners` sexual assault, inhumane treatment and abuse, four persons have been recognized guilty in the series of crime.
`We have detained four persons - director of the Kutaisi N16 jail Zurab Rukhaia, head of the regime of the same jail Davit Narsia, inspectors on duty of the same jail - Nikoloz Vakhtangishvili and Giorgi Grdzelidze. They have been committing crime inside the prison. In total, 16 persons have been arrested with the charges of inhuman treatment of prisoners, torture and abuse; one has been charged in absentia,` Tkeshelashvili said.
