Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan has openly slammed Russia over its stance on the Syrian conflict.
Erdogan has been one of the strongest opponents to the regime and spoke out in an interview on Turkish TV.
"Russia stands by the massacre in Syria, it's hardly raising its voice. I've liaised with Russian authorities and told them they shouldn't stand by Syria, but now that Russia stands by them China stands by them as well," he said.
The violence in Syria continues to spiral, with more than 300,000 refugees fleeing to neighbouring Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Turkey.
Washington sees Erdogan's government as a key player in supporting Syria's opposition, however
Ankara has found itself increasingly isolated and frustrated by the international deadlock.
