Today, on 28 September, in Portugal, Lisbon the General Assembly of European Alliance of News Agencies elected News Agency GHN (Georgia) as the full member of the Alliance.
In secret ballot, there where participating the representatives of News Agencies from 26 countries. In accordance with the results of the voting, the participants of the Assembly from 26 counties supported the membership of GHN in Alliance.
"Congratulations for the full membership of EANA. Congratulations to your colleagues. We believe that the membership will be the great step for your future successes. It is the result of your work and it is a great successes. Wish you all the best!", - said the Secretary General of the Assembly Erik Nylen after the voting.
GHN got the Congratulations from the General Director of Bulgaria News Agency BTA, Mr. Maxim Minchev.
"Congratulations, it is the great recognition for GHN. During these years, we were following your work, and we became sure that you are really objective and unbiased Media. Especially impressive was the results of the voting, because there was not any participant, who voted against. Welcome in European Family", -said, Mr. Minchev.
"Thanks to General Assembly, to our colleagues and friends. I thank to the journalists, working in GHN and to all other employees, who are working here, with us, since its inception. Especially, I want to thank to our readers and customers. We managed with our hardest work, to participate in the processes of Georgia's integration in Europe. From today in the map of European News Agencies, GHN will be represented as the full member of the Alliance. We analyze those omissions that we have in everyday work, but now we have a great responsibility, motivation and we believe that we will overcome all difficulties"- declared Director of GHN, Mr. Gocha Mirtskhulava.
