Giorgi Tughushi, Georgia's Minister of Penitentiary, Corrections and Legal Assistance denies the reports released by some media outlets about entrance of the Special Task Unit in Gldani # 8 Prison.
Tughushi said the situation was clam and no incidents were taking place in the prison.
Prisoners, who are serving prison sentences charged for minor crimes and those being in pre-detention cells had the possibility to vote in the 2012 parliamentary elections held in Georgia today.
There were 2 polling stations opened at Gldani # 8 Prison. Non-governmental organizations and representatives of 3 political parties - United National Movement (UNM), Georgian Dream (GD) and New Rightists Party -- observed the voting process.
There were 2, 125 prisoners registered at nine prisons across Georgia.
