The International Monitoring mission will make a preliminary statement about 2012 parliamentary elections held on October 1 in Georgia at a press conference at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel today.
The OSCE Office of Democratic Institutes and Human Rights, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly, the European Parliament and NATO Parliamentary Assembly represent a joint monitoring mission.
The international election monitoring mission is made up of 401 monitors. They represent MPS from 42 countries, as well as OSCE, European and NATO Parliamentary Assemblies.
A total of 61 international organizations monitored the polls. Election observers claimed that the elections were held in peaceful environment without incidents and major violations. They evaluated the day as a step forward to democracy.
