President Saakashvili has made a special statement regarding the results of the parliamentary elections. Mikheil Saakashvili said that the Georgian Dream Coalition had gained serious priority in these elections and now the parliamentary majority had to form a new government.
"As a president, I will support the parliament to begin working and elect new chairperson and form a new government,` Saakashvili said.
He also reiterated that the visions and the priorities of the Georgian Dream seriously differed from those of the ruling party and was still unacceptable for him; however, it was the decision of the Georgian people which should be respected.
As the leader of the United National Movement, Saakashvili says he now moves to the opposition.
