United National Movement accuses the activists and the leaders of the Georgian Dream Coalition of pressure on the members of precinct commissions in several regions of Georgia, where, as they say the UNM candidates are winning the parliamentary polls. Chiora Taktakishvili reported the details of the pressure at the briefing today. She said about 500 activists in Tetritskaro constituency and 200 others in Martvili are threatening the precinct commission chairpersons, preventing them from fulfilling their duties. She said the situation is similar in Ambrolauri and Sighnaghi.
`There were problems in transferring protocols from district to precinct commissions; thanks to the CEC this problem was solved. However, one of the leaders of the Georgian Dream coalition, Sozar Subari is personally involved in this process together with five hundred supporters, who are preventing the chairpersons of the commission to work properly,` Taktakishvili said.
Sozar Subari has already responded to the opponent. He said the police and supporters of the UNM abducted the protocols from district commissions and instead of delivering them to the precinct commission, they took it to Tbilisi in CEC.
`We categorically demanded that these documents be returned back to the precinct commission; afterwards these people asked me to accompany them in order to avoid any incident,` Subari said.
