`We must do our best for maintaining our participation in NATO, Afghanistan and other hot points,` Bidzina Ivanishvili, leader of the Georgian Dream coalition, which won the parliamentary elections a week ago, announced after meeting with the U.S. marine authorities.
U.S. ambassador to Georgia and the defense attaché was also attending the meeting. The sides discussed military cooperation between Georgia and the United States. Ivanishvili emphasized the role of the United States in formation of Georgian armed forces, which are closer to NATO standards.
