Georgian Dream coalition plans to separate prosecutor general`s office from the system of the ministry of justice - candidate of the prosecutor general and the candidate of the minister of justice, Archil Kbilashvili and Tea Tsulukiani have already made comments in this regards. Tsulukiani says legislative amendments are necessary for this structural reform, while Kbilashvili explains the reasons, why it is unacceptable when the minister of justice has the largest prosecuting authority.
`According to current reality, prosecution is in the system of the ministry of justice and the minister of justice is the person with largest prosecution authority. This is unacceptable, as prosecutor`s office must not be a politicized body. To uproot this incompatibility, it is necessary that the prosecutor`s office be moved to the judiciary system as it was earlier,` Kbilashvili said.
The GD leaders also say they plan to reinvestigate the high-profile criminal cases in the future.
