A conference on "The Civil Society and the Education on Human Rights as a tool for promoting religious tolerance" was held on September 27th in New York as a side-event to the LXVII UNGA.
Co-chaired by the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi di Sant'Agata and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Nasser Judeh, the Conference offered the opportunity for discussing the "best practices" on education on human rights as a tool for promoting religious tolerance.
The event was extremely successful, leading to the identification of a set of concrete proposals.
Italy offered hosting an International workshop on this topic.
In addition to a substantial numbers of Ministries, Members of national Parliaments and Representatives of Permanent Missions of UN member States interested in this topic participated in the Conference. Italian and foreign NGOs and personalities from the media and academic world also attended.
