145 inmates have been transferred from the Gldani N8 strict regime prison to other prisons last night. Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia, Sozar Subari says such a large-scale transfer has not taken place during past few decades. His office has reported that the process would continue and the convicts serving their sentences for less grave or light crimes will be also sent to other prisons.
Minister thinks that most of the prisoners are held in N8 prison illegally and they should be serving their sentences at the half-open regime prisons.
