Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili has ruled out political motives in the detention of the former minister of defense, Bachana Akhalaia, former chief of staffs of Georgian armed forces Giorgi Kalandadze and the commander of the 4th brigade Zurab Shamatava. Bidzina Ivanishvili says it was not a political detention and there were legal motives for this decision. Ivanishvili defined that he was not familiar with the details of the criminal case, neither was he involved in the procedures of detention.
`It was not a political detention and as far as I know, it had legal grounds. It was done by the people who had to do this and everything was done according to law. I do not participate in these processes, therefore, I can`t tell you more about it,` Prime Minister announced.
