Over 1,300 drivers of the municipal buses have gone on strike causing serious problems of transportation to the residents of Tbilisi today. The drivers are demanding growth of their salaries with 50% and improvement of working terms. The drivers prepared a note of protest of 17 points and sent to the Tbilisi government. The protestors demand new contracts, where their rights will be protected.
The director general of the Tbilisi Transport Company met with the protestors assembled outside the Tbilisi mayor`s office last night and told them that the growth of salaries was impossible at present. Only after this the drivers decided to go on strike. The drivers of all three bus parks joined the protestors today.
