From November 27 until November 30 a delegation of Sicilian entrepreneurs of the agri-food sector will visit Tbilisi. The delegation is led by Mr Leoluca Orlando, Mayor of Palermo, Sicily's capital.
In the framework of the visit, a presentation of Sicilian food products and B2B meetings will be held at the Embassy on November 28. Besides the Italian firms, the event is expected to be attended by more than 20 Georgian companies representing supermarket and grocery store retail chains, hotels and restaurant chains.
The event is embedded in one of the main events of the Embassy's cultural program for 2012 and in particular within the celebrations of the XII edition of the Italian Language Week Worldwide, dedicated this year to the Italian dialects of our Regions. The business presentation will be followed by the performance of four artists of Palermo Ditirammu Theatre, with Sicilian dances, poems, and songs. The show will take place at the Italian Ambassador's Residence on November 29 for a wide targeted audience on the occasion of a gala dinner with a Sicilian menu and products.
The organization of both the events has been made possible thanks to the contribution of the private sponsors of the cultural activities of the Embassy of Italy to Georgia, thanks to the Municipality of Tbilisi that is twinned with the Municipality of Palermo, and to Banca Nuova who supported the initiative in Sicily.
