Israeli Embassy to Georgia has made an official response on the decision of Georgia, the delegation of which supported the UN General Assembly resolution on granting status of an observer state to Palestine.
Ambassador of Israel to Georgia Yuval Fuchs has disapproved the decision of Georgian representatives, however, added it would not affect relationship between the two countries.
`This decision does not change anything on the ground; there is not state which is created by such a resolution of the General assembly of the UN. Israel has proved many times in past that we are ready for peace - but there is only one way to get there through direct negotiations and road there is very simple - it is the way between Ramallah and Jerusalem which is seven minute, ten minutes by car and you don`t have to fly all the way to New York ten hours. I can tell you that we are in long talks with the Georgian administration, it has not begun yesterday and it has not finished today,` the ambassador said.
