Dodo Aprasidze, a mother of brother Aprasidzes was questioned in the status of a witness by Georgia's Chief Prosecutor's Office.
Malkhaz Jangirashvili, lawyer of Aprasidzes said that the questioning lasted for more than 6 hours and that an investigation would be conducted repeatedly into the case.
On March 24, 2004, a special operations unit of the Georgian Interior Ministry conducted a special operation in the village of Etseri, in a mountain part of Georgia's Svanetia.
Ten helicopters, the Interior Ministry's special operations units, and a special operations unit of the State Security Ministry's antiterrorist center took part in the operation. It lasted during 40 minutes.
Two allegedly dangerous gangsters - Omekhi and Yevgeny Aprasidze - were liquidated during the operation. Shmagi and Gocha Aprasidze were detained. They were sentenced to 20 and 18 years imprisonment. Interior Minister Giorgy Baramidze and State Security Minister Zurab Adeishvili were at the scene.
