Constructions of Kars- Akhalkalaki railway raises questions - Georgia's Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said in an interview with newspaper Rezonansi.
"I may have to ask questions about it during my visit to Azerbaijan and to explain it very mildly to our friendly country that at certain point it might not be useful for us and it needs to be regulated.
It won't be easy, because the construction has been already launched. It would have been easier before the launch of the construction, now it is very difficult", - Ivanishvili says.
"We have unique geographical location and of course this potential needs to be used properly" - He says.
The members of Parliamentary majority are sharing the Ivanishvili's position. Davit Saganelidze, the leader of the Majority say that it is not reasoned by the political motives, there are questions about economical or financial risks.
Georgia's President Mikheil Saakashvili expressed concern over the statements of Ivanishvili. He talks about the importance of the project for the country's independence. "Baku-Akhalkalaki-Kars railway project is a route for Georgia to get direct access to Europe bypassing Russia", - Saakashvili says.
Experts say that the project has been already launched so it is impossible to suspend it.
