Ministry of Transport of Azerbaijan has responded on the statement of Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, who told Resonance newspaper last week that the Karsi-Akhalkalaki railway construction should be revised.
The representatives of the ministry say that the Karsi-Akhalkalaki railway had strategic and economic importance and its implementation was not only in the interests of the countries of the region, but of the European states too.
In the interview with the local news agency the trend, the PR chief of the Azerbaijan`s transport ministry also mentioned that the Azerbaijan`s government had already spent 775 million dollar on the construction of the Georgia`s section of the railway.
`Azerbaijan always fulfills its obligations taken with international agreements and expects same approach from its partners,` said the chief of the PR department Namig Gasanov.
