Prime Minister of Georgia has announced about possible suspension of persecution of former senior officials in response to the five-point plan of consolidation voiced by the president in his New Year congratulation speech.
Bidzina Ivanishvili said the system was already demolished and now the new government had to succeed in pardoning former officials for their wrong-doings in a form of an amnesty.
`The process is over and this man has realized this, and I think that many of his team have also felt this and to those who could not, I will explain what happened - in fact the system has collapsed - the system of violence and falsehood and now we have to manage and pardon the persons, who created and facilitated to the existence of this system willfully or mechanically. We should think of something like amnesty in order to give them an opportunity to live in this society with dignity, Bidzina Ivanishvili said.
In his New Year address to the nation, Prime Minister spoke about the restoration of justice and constructive cooperation with the opposition. Bidzina Ivanishvili said the government would reinforce its focus on Georgia`s foreign policy.
