A telephone conversation was held between Defence Minister of Georgia Irakli Alasania and the United States Secretary of Defence Leon Panetta. Leon Panetta expressed his deepest concern over the death of Sergeant Giorgi Kikadze and asked Georgian counterpart, on behalf of the US government, to extend condolences to the family members of the deceased Georgian military servicemen.
US Secretary of Defence Leon Panetta once more outlined that the USA supports and praises Georgia's contribution in the international operations. Leon Panetta highlighted the bravery and professionalism of Georgian military servicemen.
During the telephone conversation the sides talked on the issues related to the US-Georgian bilateral cooperation in the international operations. As Irakli Alasania stated, Georgia is a reliable partner of the United States. Georgian peacekeepers will continue fulfilling its duties in ISAF until the end of 2014 and render assistance to Afghan National Security Forces in post-ISAF period
