The deadline for signing a bill on amnesty by the president of Georgia expires tomorrow - in case Mikheil Saakashvili does not sign the document, which was vetoed by him and afterwards the veto was overturned by the parliament, the only way out of the deadlock is the signature of the parliament chairperson, by which the bill will be enforced.
The amnesty will refer to thousands of prisoners, but not all them will be immediately released - some will have their sentences reduced.
Minister of corrections and legal assistance, Sozar Subari says the ministry is prepared to immediately respond to the process of amnesty - if legally they have a week for all procedures that are necessary for the release of the prisoners, minister says they are prepared to carry out this process in an hour.
