James Appathurai, NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, arrived in Tbilisi Georgia this morning within the NATO Week, which begins today. The senior guest will open the NATO Week together with the State Minister of Georgia for European Integration, Aleksi Petriashvili.
Meetings with the parliament speaker and the parliamentary minority leader are also on the agenda.
The goal of the visit of Mr. Appathurai is also to prepare Georgia for the upcoming visit of the North Atlantic Council.
Georgian authorities plan to raise the issue of the situation in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali occupied regions at the meeting with the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia.
