US Ambassador Richard Norland will visit Zugdidi on September 16th as part of the Embassy's coverage of the Georgian electoral environment in advance of the October 27 presidential election.
According to the Embassy, noting that one of the presidential candidates intends to hold a campaign rally in Zugdidi today (September 11), Ambassador Norland appealed to party activists on all sides to contribute to a campaign atmosphere that is free of intimidation or the threat of violence. He also urged authorities to take all appropriate measures to maintain calm.
"I appreciated the warm welcome I received in Zugdidi last year and am looking forward to this return visit to a peaceful Zugdidi," Ambassador Norland said.
