Prosecutor`s office of Georgia has announced that the investigation has been launched on the incident of turning off the lights on Tbilisi TV mast - reportedly, the investigation was started on the specific facts of misuse of authority. Mayor`s office took a decision to turn off the lights on Tbilisi TV mast, which is also a beacon of air navigation, due to the absence of the capital budget.
`The news released by media today, Tbilisi mayor`s office took a decision on January 20th to turn off the lights on Tbilisi TV mast and air navigation beacon, which would represent a threat for safety of flights. As the statement includes the signs of crime, prosecutor`s office has started investigation on misuse of authority,` Prosecutor`s office said in the statement.
Within the aforesaid investigation, the director of the municipal ltd. Tbilisi - City of Lights, Nika Togonidze has been summoned for interrogation at the office of the prosecutor.
