The daughter company of the Partnership Fund in cooperation with the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation has launched a large-scale project in Georgia - construction of a 230 megawatt combined cycle hydroelectric plant in Gardabani.
Project presentation was attended by the Prime Minister, Vice PM, other members of the government and lawmakers. The combined cycle hydro-electric power station will be launched to exploitation by the end of the year 2015. It will be equipped with modern technologies, new turbines produced by General Electrics and the plant will provide local market with additional source of electricity.
In case of a break down on central power system, the Gardabani station will be capable to provide power supply to the system in a very short period.
The project`s budget is 220 million US dollar. The plant will be constructed by a Turkish company.
