The Ministry of Defence of Georgia reports that Intermediate Mountain Training Winter
Course (IMTWC ) is underway at the Sachkhere Mountain Training Course. The
IMTWC will be conducted within NATO Partnership for Peace Program (PfP) from
January 18 to February 14. 7 military servicemen form NATO member and partner
countries including the military from Estonia, Armenia and Jordan, as well as 5
would be instructors of Sachkhere Mountain Training School are taking part in
the IMTWC.
The training course was planned in
two stages. The military were trained in shooting at the Abuli firing-ground
across a mountainous terrain. The main goal of the course is to master the
military in shooting skills from service guns in hard climate conditions.
Shootings were conducted at the altitude of 3000 m. and were supervised by
Sachkhere School instructors. During qualification shootings, knowledge of each
military servicemen were evaluated and adequately scored.
In the second phase of IMTWC the course participants will continue
preparation in Gudauri. The military go through IMTWC after attending Basic
Mountain Training Winter Course. Successful soldiers will also undergo Summer
and Winter courses in Sachkhere Mountain Training School.
