‘I will do my best
to ensure that no one feels like secondary citizen in this country’, stated
newly appointed Advisor of President on National Minority issues Sopio Shamanidi
while speaking with journalists.
‘Main problem is maintaining identity and traditions. I
have an experience of working with ethnic minorities- I personally belong to
this group. I know their problems very well because I am in touch with them on
a daily basis’, - she added.
Shamanidi made clear that she will be keeping President
in informed on matters related to ethnic minorities, reports GHN based on
President’s Press Office release.
Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili introduced Sopio
Shamanidi to public during his meeting with up to twenty non- governmental
organizations working in field of ethnic minorities.
Prior to the meeting Margvelashvili declared that
participation of ethnic minorities will foster forming economically and culturally
strong country.
