Steering committee meeting was held in the frame of the project
“creating a platform for combating domestic violence in Georgia”. Project is
implemented since 2012 in cooperation with Bureau of International Narcotics
and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, Estonian Academy of
Security Sciences, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The main goal of
the project is to develop the capacity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of
Georgia in the sphere of combating domestic violence. Meeting was attended by
the representative of Estonian embassy to Georgia, Estonian Academy of Security
Sciences, INL, International organization for Migration and MIA.
Several issues were discussed during the meeting: current
situation in combating domestic violence in Georgia, results of the study
visits, trainings and conference conducted in the framework of the project and
possibilities of future cooperation, reports GHN based on MIA news release.
