At the Economic council
meeting which was held at the State Chancellery yesterday,
Prime Minister of Georgia inquired why a large number of the public legal
entities and state LLC staffs have unrealistically high salaries. Prime
Minister Irakli Garibashvili requested an answer to this question from
Ministers of Economy and Finance. According to PM's Press Service Garibashvili
proposed a rational approach to the issue of wages and the prompt eradication
of this malignant practice that had persisted for years.
The council meeting
also discussed the local industry development strategy and action plan.
"Produce Georgian goods," is Prime Minister's initiative, which aims
to improve local production, support the innovative development and
competitiveness of small and medium businesses. Ministry of Economy and
Sustainable Development has worked on the project for several months. Research
and analysis has been carried out in this direction. Local industry development
strategy and action plan will be publicly accessible in the near future.
