Minister of Foreign
Affairs Maia Panjikidze pronounced a speech during the sitting of European
Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) which was held yesterday, 17 February.
According to MFA’s press
and information department Foreign Minister talked about priorities that were
present on Georgia’s euro integration agenda, and Georgia’s further plans and
objectives in context of outcomes achieved at Vilnius summit.
During her speech, she pointed
out the achieved progress in scope of political and economic reforms
implemented in Georgia, particularly in direction of strengthening democracy
and supremacy of law, protection of human rights, promoting business, and
ensuring social welfare.
She also approved Georgia’s
aspirations towards Euro- Atlantic integration and laid emphasis on the readiness
of Georgian Government to promote establishing common European values in the
country.
Maia Panjikidze stressed particular attention on existing security situation
in Georgia and underlined the importance of EU’s role in process of promoting
stability in the country.
