Wreath-laying
ceremony to commemorate the fallen cadets was held in the yard of the
Parliament of Georgia. The members of the Cabinet of Ministers and the
Parliament of Georgia paid a tribute to the memory of the cadets fallen for the
territorial integrity of Georgia at Kojori-Tabakhmela in 1921.
According to
MOD’s news release, the visitors gathered in the yard of the Parliament of
Georgia remembered the heroic stories of the young cadets, who sacrificed their
lives to their homeland. As Defence Minister Irakli Alasania said their
fighting spirit and strength should be exemplary for each Georgian citizen and
military servicemen. “They were honored to die in fight for their country. The
attitude of our state and society demonstrates that we respect everyone who is
fighting for the independence and security of our country,” Irakli Alasania
stated.
The memorial
service was also held in the chapel today. The 23rd of February is the
remembrance day of the fallen cadets is Georgia. During 17-24 February, in
1921, hundreds of cadets died in fight for the territorial integrity of Georgia
near Ialghuja, Kojori and Tabakhmela.
