In frames of his visit to the US the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili met the executive Director of the corporation "Millennium Challenges Corporation" Daniel Johannes.

Garibashvili stated at the meeting that Georgia valued the efforts of the "Millennium Challenges Corporation" in development and growth of Georgia, informed Prime Minister's Press Office

Irakli Garibashvili expressed his gratitude to Daniel Johannes for signing the agreement with Georgia regarding the investment of the 140 million dollars in the education field of Georgia, made in July of 2013 during his visit in Tbilisi. 

"this compact is the subject of a great importance which gives the opportunity to improve and develop the quality of the education, science and technology in the field of engineering science, which provides the opportunities to attract more investment in the fast growing sectors such as : Energetic, construction , agriculture, information technologies, transport and logistics, this is greatest investment in the field of education and serves as an evidence that the Georgia is the strategic partner of the USA " - stated Prime Minister at the meeting.

Irakli Garibashvili invited Daniel Johannes in Georgia and stated that Tbilisi will be glad by hosting the Board Chairman and members of the board of "Millennium Challenges Corporation" to celebrate the target oriented use of the grant.

Georgia is the one of the four countries that has received the second compact from the "Millennium Challenges Corporation" last summer. The first 5 year compact of 395 million dollars received by Georgia from the "Millennium Challenges Corporation" in 2005, has been used for the purpose to enhance agricultural development and for the infrastructural projects in Georgia
