President of Georgia Giorgi
Margvelasvhili responded to recent events taking place along occupation line of
Tskhinvali region, where Russia’s occupation soldiers continue illegally
arranging barbed wires and fences.
He addresses international community
to back Georgia and raise its voice against current illegal actions.
Margvelashvili stated that the
events lacked any strategic
military purpose, and regarded it as
actions directed against people.
“These actions are simply addressed against people”,
“This is the act which is
directed towards complicating the conflict…towards maintaining the conflict.” stated president, and mentioned that
such circumstances would deter people living beyond the occupation line from seeing
and meeting each other.
President also pointed
out that no steps had been taken to disarrange 11 km zone which was created in
scope of security measures during Olympic Games in Sochi.
He once again stressed
the importance of active participation of the international community in a mentioned
situation.
“A month ago we tried informing
the world community about this, that it would not be easy and that very active
participation would be required”, he stated.
