In an interview with Rustavi-2 TV Company on March 25, Mikheil Saakashvili, former president of Georgia said that Mukhrovani riot was planned by Russian intelligence services and that alleged organizers Otanadze and Krialashvili received instructions from Russia.
Koba Kobaladze, former political prisoner says that accusations of Saakashvili regarding Mukhrovani Riot case serve as instincts of self-defense. According to Kobaladze, the accusations are absurd.
Saakashvili claimed that a mine was placed at one of the bases at Mukrovani targeted against Otanadze. The mine did not explode since there was no mobile connection at the site.
