Septemebr 9, at 16:00 in the writer's house there will be held workshop of literature translation with the participation of Georgian and British authors.
The workshop will be held with initiative of organization "Literature Across Frontiers" on September 9-14. The workshop is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection, National Center of Georgian Book, Writers House of Georgia and British Council. The joint working discussion of British and Georgian poets will be leaded by the director of LAF and editor of bilingual anthology series of Arc Publishing Alesandra Buller. In the project will participate: Stiven Wotes (poet/translator), Adam Smart (poet/translator), Alesandra Buller (LAF director, editor of anthology series, translator), Angela Jarman (editor Arc Publications), Nia Davis (poet/LAF communication manager), Maia Sarishvili, Keka Samniashvili, Shota Iatashvili, Gaga Nakhutsrishvili and Rati Amaglobeli. In the frame of workshop British poets will work on the translation of Irakli Charkviani poems. As a result of the workshop translations of six Georgian poets will be published by "Arc Publishing" in 2015.
The aim of the workshop is to support development of future relations between Georgian and British poets, critics and translators. Also the relations will deepen between LAF and National Center of Georgian Book connected with the publishing of anthology of Georgian poetry of Britain.
